Bronze cannon dated 1651. About 10 inches long. On a wooden carriage which is not original. I believe this will actually fire and is similar to one you appraised for me last year

Dear Patrick,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a model cannon that was made out of cast bronze with a wooden carriage. The cannon is decorated with a coat of arms and was made in the 20th century for decorative purposes.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 30 to 60 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Patrick,
Thank you for your email. Besides stylistic aspects, a main argument is the quality of the cast itself. You can see many bubbles in the metal which endanger the potential user when you fire a shot.
With kind regards,
Georg
Georg, I had a similar one appraised here last year. The appraiser thought it was made in the 1700s . What is the difference between the two?
