Unknown origin, made of iron, rusty, no serial number. The gun was confiscated during an assault between Vietcong and a US Army officer during a wartime covert operation in the jungle of Vietnam. I also have the helmet and hat of that Vietcong GO.

Hello, this item is a vintage revolver of unidentified origin, reportedly confiscated from a Vietcong government officer during a covert operation in Vietnam in the fall of 1971. The revolver, made of iron and now exhibiting rust and heavy patina, lacks serial numbers or visible markings, complicating identification. The form resembles late 19th to early 20th-century European-style military sidearms, possibly influenced by Nagant or early Colt patterns, but the degradation obscures definitive classification. Included with the firearm are a pith helmet and cloth hat bearing red-star insignia, enhancing the item’s contextual and historical narrative.
Due to the unverifiable provenance and the weapon’s non-functional state, its value as a collectible lies predominantly in its purported war history and associated items rather than intrinsic rarity or craftsmanship. Assuming no verifiable documentation exists beyond the anecdotal account, this piece would appeal more to militaria collectors interested in Vietnam War memorabilia. In that market context, the estimated value of the ensemble, revolver with helmet and hat, would likely range from $300 to $600 USD.
