In 1847, a total of 140,750 Seated Liberty silver dollars were minted. All were minted in Philadelphia (there was no mint mark, as Philadelphia coins didn’t carry one at the time); the coin was designed by Christian Gobrecht and is made up of 90% silver and 10% copper. These coins are fairly scarce today, especially in high grades or with strong strikes, and can be quite valuable depending on condition.
According to the APMEX (the American Precious Metals Exchange), the value of this coin ranges from $472 for the coin in Good-4 rate to $26,433 for one in PR (Proof)-63.
Mearto can neither authenticate nor rate coins or other collectibles from photos but judging from the photos, this is probably worth between $475 and the next grade up: $525.
