A drawing of a house. The drawing is on a white old paper. I bought the drawing in a small village senailly in France several years ago. I cannot tell the name of the artist as it is a little bit blurry.

Dear Vicki Ngangu,
Thank you for your appraisal submission. From the photograph provided, the work appears to be a graphite or charcoal drawing on paper. It depicts a small house fronted by a bridge over a creek. The work is signed illegibly to the lower left and inscribed to the lower right. The inscription could possibly be a date, suggesting the 1860s, but the paper does not seem aged appropriately. The acquisition of the work from France could possibly suggest a French artist. It is difficult to discern the work from the photograph provided. It appears to be in good condition, slight warping to the sheet with minor smudging throughout, measuring 9.5 x 6.75 inches.
Given the lack of artistic attribution and the indeterminate age of the work, an appraisal estimate is primarily based on other French landscape or architectural drawings of similar scenes. In recent years, the sales of these works have steadily remained under $100. Some of these lots even included multiple drawings, rather than the sale of an individual artwork. Only drawings of this kind by well-known artists have exceeded this value. It is likely that a future artistic attribution of this work may change its value, but with the currently known facts, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work between $0 and $200.
Thank you for your appraisal submission. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.
Kind regards,
Charlotte B.
