Antique dealer called me when table came in from Vail estate.
Dear Sharon,
Greetings and thank you for calling upon the experts at Mearto to evaluate your stunning dining room table by Lenz. The burl wood inlay on this piece is outstanding. The company was based in Lacon, Illinois and I did find a 1920 advertisement so they were in business for quite some time.
In 2015 an nearly identical Lenz's table was sold at auction for $650 (Pillar Table No. 544). I would place yours on par with that example which would have the estimate for your piece at auction between $600 and $700USD.
I should mention that retail prices for this type of furniture vary widely, retail prices a subjective and are dependent upon the regional market, dealer cost and clientele. The appraisers at Mearto base our estimates on prices paid for objects rather than asked for objects.
Thank you for submitting such a magnificent table.
Sincerely,
Erin-Marie
