This oil on canvas painting of a fountain in a Medici palazzo was done by mid-level English artist M. Simpson in 1893. The 32" x 39.5" frame is gold painted plaster.
I inherited the painting from my mother. She inherited it from her maternal uncle. I believe my great uncle was given the painting from a friend with whom he was in WW I, in the European theater.
