It's a 10 inch bowl, ornately painted with florals and two bird emblems on the side. The inside center has 3 figures - main woman is holding an umbrella. It weighs about 3.5 pounds. I had someone translate the mark on the back - it says "Manufactured in Sheep City in the wuchen year (1988)". I don't imagine that it's worth a lot but I'd like to get an idea.
I found it at a thrift store.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a chinese hand printed and hand painted chinese porcelain bowl, with an honest inscription "made in Yangcheng in 1988". Yangcheng 羊城 is another legendary name for Guangzhou 广州市. The design itself is unique, the lady in the center of the bowl is clearly inspired by japanese Satsuma ware, some of the emblems by japanese Imari ware. The demand for such inexpensive chinese porcelain is limited. The estimate is based on similar offered or sold at auction.
