Intricate carved Wooden Handel very sharp wavy blade
Sword in the scabbard 20”Sword by its self 17/12”
Apparently they were given to Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles founder of Singapore by The Shar of Persia. I am related to him and these were passed down to me
Dear Mark,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal.
The presented object appears to be a matching pair of Javanese Kris daggers with 20
inches length. Both daggers have a curved pamor blade and silver decorated scabbards. They were probably made in the first half of the 20th century. The named provenance relating these daggers as a diplomatic gift of the Shar of Perisa needs to be documented could higher the estimate.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 350 to 700 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
