Took pictures of backside and front that shows dimensions. Need appraisal for insurance purposes. Can I send you the pictures?
Estate sale of prominent doctor.
Hello William,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Persian Isfahan Rug, dating back to the period between 1950-1970. This piece has a completely florally decorated pattern. The piece is centrally decorated, which means it has a central medallion. The cenral medallion is also decorated florally and has two lanterns hanging from each side. The prodominant colour of the rug is a bright red at the center, while the borders have a dark blue base. Central area is shaped as an oval panel. Knot density of your piece is quite average for the Isfahan rugs from this period and motifs are rendered finely in comparison to it's peers. The piece is in good condition with some visible wear to it's various surfaces.
Entirely hand knotted.
Dimensions: 11 Feet 7 Inches by 9 Feet 10 Inches
Condition: The piece is in good condition with some visible wear to it's various surfaces.
Provenance: From the estate sale of a prominent doctor.
Heavily decorated by traditional Isfahan patterns.
700-1000$.
