Hand blown and sculpted glass. eight bowls in good condition the largest piece 21 inches wide by 12 inches high. All pieces are signed and would like confirmation on who the artist is.
Bought from Abell gallery. California.
Good evening, Ryan,
Thank you for adding the additional photographs. Abell is a pretty well-known auction house and I think if they thought this was a set by Chihuly they would have said so. Chihuly has several recognized signatures, (some of which don't look very much like 'Chihuly' to me), making a firm attribution a bit difficult. He has also been faked and it is pretty hard to tell from a photograph, even for someone as familiar with Chihuly's work as I am. I do think these are by Chihuly but am marking them as 'conditional' based on first-hand examination. If you elect to sell them, you might get a second in-person opinion from an auction house specializing in late 20th century art glass.
The following auction sales of similar Chihuly sets have been provided for your information as to the current market for authentic works:

Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
Thank you for the conditional appraisal, and yes Abell did list it as a Chihuly signed grouping. I just wanted to get your second opinion and see if you concurred with it because the signature did look a little different than some of the ones that I had previously seen. Thank you, Ryan
Hi there! I added eight more pictures for you on two of the more legible signatures. Yes all eight bowls are signed I can clearly read the date of 2004 and of course the reason I’m having you do the appraisal is to be the expert on who the signature belongs to. Of coarse I’m hoping that it’s a Chihuly original, but then again you are the expert that I know will be able to figure this out exactly. Thank you, Ryan
