3 authentic, autographed black and white photos from wonderful Old Hollywood! 1) Natalie Wood; 2) Claudette Colbert; and 3) Norma Shearer. The first photo found was the Natalie Wood piece … it was found in the bottom of an old storage box, along with other 5”x7”autographed photos of Norma Shearer and Claudette Colbert. This box was given to me by very successful Hollywood actress Cheryl Hines (who fairly recently married Robert Kennedy, Jr, who is, of course, the son of the assassinated political figure, Bobby Kennedy, Sr.). Yes! She’s a Kennedy!!! Who would’ve thought … ?! Cheryl is from Tallahassee, Florida (as I am) and we grew up together and were close during our years at Leon High School and through our college years. Cheryl’s sister, Becky, is actually one of my “life” best friends. The Hines family still resides in Tallahassee, so I do get to see her when she visits. Cheryl had been holding onto this box, as well as other keepsakes, since losing her grandmother many years ago. She explained that her grandmother was an old Hollywood enthusiast and collector, who dreamed of the stage herself. Interestingly, she indicates that her grandmother’s passion for the golden age is the very reason she was so driven to pursue the entertainment industry as a career. I am interested in consigning all three - either as a Lot or individually. I would simply love to know their worth! All three photos are backed by Fotochrome-X Studio Paper. They are a sharp black and white. They are very similar in style and in perfect condition, as they’ve apparently been hidden away for many decades and protected by thicker individual plastic sleeves. The signatures are flawless and are not faded whatsoever. Natalie Wood has signed, “Sincerely, Natalie Wood” in dark blue ink. Norma Shearer and Claudette Colbert have simply signed their names in blue as well. These three are absolutely, without question …. old; … as vintage as it gets. They are exciting to look at, and they are of exceptional quality. How fun to own a part of Hollywood history like these. Please let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing from you!
