Hi Delia!

I was told this was incorrect, would you be able to check again please?

Thank you very much!

Hi Alexis,
May I ask what about this appraisal is incorrect?
Thanks,
Delia

Alexis hall Jul 21, 15:25 UTC

I was told the full appraisal was incorrect from a local NYC Collector Not the right name or time era.

Alexis hall Jul 21, 15:27 UTC

In my opinion the appraisal seemed correct. He told me this was a piece from the 70s.

Delia Jul 21, 15:42 UTC

He has seen the lamp in person?
Does he mean 1870s or 1970s?
Is he trying to buy it from you?

Alexis hall Jul 21, 15:47 UTC

No, he said it is definetly n ot caldwell as they didn't make pieces lie this according to him. However, within my own research I do see some similar pieces. He said he would not be interested in buying since it is not Caldwell and was produced in the 1970s he said.

Delia Jul 21, 15:57 UTC

He may be trying to get this for less money, certainly a conflict of image in my opinion.

As an unattributed (ie, no names) cast bronze (brass?) lamp from the late 20th century, this would have a value of $300-500 (and I just noticed I was wrong- shouldn't have read early 19th century, more like late 19th/early 20th century)...I've changed that now.
Let me know if you are OK with my changing the cataloging to read
