Della new pictures for you
Della,
The bottom right picture was not enhanced or filtered My daughter and I used exposure and contrast buttons to see if we could get the label clearer. The bottom right is pretty good on its own. The Label shows "B.W." "M" OVER "H" exactly as I placed in a comment. H then a "C." the symbol after that looks as if it is a question mark backward

Hi Kathie,
Thank you for the additional photos and description; I've come up dry in a maker's search to the initials BW but I do know that this is a late 19th Century French violin.
Della,
I was able to make out the "BW" and I now see that the other does in fact look as if it is "CS" I have a cataract which makes it difficult. Although I flipped the picture So I was able to zoom in more and the letters are facing right side up. when zooming between the "BW CS" It appears to be the letter "M "with another letter straight down underneath I was once told the dates are written in roman numerals. I call my daughter to ask for her help in photographing. The Bow is on the table next to the violin in 2 pictures. I looked for any type of name initials and or numbers, I am not sure exactly where to look but I looked at every angle. I will post more recent pictures as soon as she gets home.
Kathie.
