The sculpture is in excellent condition. It has been in our home since we received it. It is solid marble and we were told it is 700+ pounds. It was made for us in Vietnam.

These carved marble dolphin (and other marine creatures) statues are an enduring and endearing souvenir from Vietnam, which has a long and storied seafaring history. Most aren't signed and there hasn't been a lot of research into the businesses that produced these but when these come to auction, they usually sell for between $1,500 and $2,500.
