I believe I have a hand carved marble fireplace from the late 1800s that appears to have never been installed. I acquired it in Virginia on a farm, where the previous owner mentioned it was taken from his previous home in Virginia. From the research I have done, it appears to be hand carved in Europe. I have not attempted to clean the marble, and it was outside under a tarp when I purchased it but do not want to damage the stone. In doing research on installing these fireplaces as I was originally planning on putting it in my victorian home, it appears to have no marks, holes, etc. indicating it was ever installed. Outside of the necessary cleaning, it is fully intact and without any cracks/marks. It also weighs at least 1500 pounds all together but is separated into 5 distinct pieces that fit together when assembled.
