Dear Gary,
Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. Your collection of rugs includes two Armenian Tribal rugs and a Leaboneses Serapi. They all appear to be in good condition and date from the early to mid 20th century. All the rugs look to woven, in the flat weave method, by hand out of wool. Armenian rugs stand out from other Persian rugs for their use floral rather than geometric symbols. Rugs from this region began to appear in Europe during the middle ages, through the newly open trade routes and were so prized that by the Rennainssace they started to appear in Master paintings. Based on recent price realizations for rugs, similar to yours in style, origin, and size, a fair market estimate for the collection would be between 1600 and 7000 US dollars.
Best Regards,
Morgan
Any news?
