It is very thin with open slots on each long end with wood strips inserted (so not even sure I can call it a rug?). Unsure if the material but again it is thin- soft on one side and colors show through in other side. Stitched on edges. Can’t tel if hand stitches or not. It’s old. It hung in my grandparents kitchen (on the wall) for years and I believe she had inherited it from her parents so guessing it was made sometime in 20th century.
