My Uncle Lee Yocum was a Sargent of Arms in WWII. He was in Germany at the end of the war. He sent swords and other things home after the war. He gave each of his 8 sisters swords. I unfortuantley gave the neat sword to a cousin's son. Big mistake. But the sword I am writing about was given to one of my Aunt's. I don't think they took as good of care of it. When my cousin was cleaning out her parent's apartment, MIriam did not want her mom's sword. I happened to be there. I said I would take it. I didn't want her giving it to some thrift store when Uncle Lee had sent it home from Germany, A cousin looked it up on line and told me it was a Huntsman's sword and it is not military. Another cousin has one similar with engraving in German. I am assuming this is German and was told by others that it is old. I decided to have it appraised and there are no appraisers close to where I live in PA. Was glad to find you on line. Handle is a stage horn. The hilt is brass with a design. The blade is steel I believe. Leather sheath with a small sheath on it for a small knife. Two edge blade but no writing or dates or manufacturing info. They didn't take care of the blade and hoping it can be cleaned. I like the feel of the sword. It is easy to hold.

The blade is 19 1/8 " long starting at 1 1/2 " tapering to 1/8' at tip. 28 1/2 inches overall length. Hilt is about 6 3/4 ".
