I am not positive of the artist but online description has led me to believe that is sculpture made by Mario De Alba. It appears to be made of Zebra Jasper. The letters MD are scratched/carved into the back lower right of the piece. The piece weighs about 4 lbs 12 ozs .

The height of the piece is just under 6-3/4 inches tall Length is about 7-1/4 inches long, the thickness at it's widest point is just under 3 inches.
