almost exactly 9.25 x 9.25 x 6.5 inch dimensions. Maybe Georgian style miniature desk with green leather inlay that has muted gold and blind tooling and not perfectly centred; also the tooling is pressed in to the leather or embossed. Drawer interiors appear to be aged pine maybe and feature a warm honey like colour with some panels not perfectly the same size or thickness. Half blind or lapped irregular sized dovetails at the drawer fronts and tiny irregular through dovetails at the back of the drawers. Some drawers have the presence of vertical 3 mm impressions going from the bottom interior side panels( inside of drawers) to the top. The exterior wood has a beautiful caramel like soft piano look with small black knots and swirls that looks like burl walnut while the side panels appear to be the same wood. The back panel and bottom of the desk have many vertical black grain lines. The interior carcass is made of thicker solid wood skeleton framing. All drawers have a thin 3 mm border moulding with softly rounded edges and imperfect lines. The drop ring pulls fasteners are hidden inside the front drawer box- maybe blind fastened? They look like cast brass and all have a very similar tiny indent in the same spot of the backing circle. They all show a beautiful chocolate bronze like look with mild green and gold coming through. The piece is heavy and shows many wavy tight , very thin cracks. 7 total graduating drawers. Most shallow at the top to deepest at the bottom. Purchased at an antique mall in Ontario , Canada.
Just shy of 9.5 inches width , 9.25 inches height and 6.5 inches deep.
