Hello Rhonda,

I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,

Considering the photographs, overall pattern, technique and the colours, I concluded that this is a Pair of Indian Vases made by using Meenakari Technique. This is a process that involves the metal body to be covered by a type of enamel and then aither painted on, carved on or both. In your piece's case we do see both of them were applied. The metal body of your piece is probably copper or copper mixed with other metals in small percentages. This technique actually originated in Persia and spread out to India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. I believe your piece is Indian. We can easily detect peacock motifs carved on the enamel, which makes the copper colour visible. The pattern used on the piece is idyllic, flowers and bushes are visible. Craftsmanship of your pair can be considered average, the motifs are rendered nicely. Colours are mostly distributed as dots, less carefully compared to carvings. In good condition with signes of age and use. I believe your pair dates back to 1960-1980 period. There are no visible maker's mark or signature, we mostly do not encounter with marks or signatures on Meenakari pieces.

Entirely hand made and painted.

Dimensions: 19 Inches Tall.

Condition: In good condition with signes of use and age.

Provenance: Unknown.

80-120$ for the pair.
