Hello, I was hoping you might be able to provide a quick opinion. I have two heavy gold chains that are currently at a refinery, and I’ve been offered $4,500 based on their gold value. Before I approve them for refining, I wanted to ask whether they appear to have any antique or collector value beyond their melt value. They are believed to be 18K and are family pieces from Bavaria, Germany. Unfortunately, I no longer have them in hand, but I’ve attached the best photo I have. Based on the style and construction, do they appear to be the type of chains that would typically sell for more than their intrinsic gold value?
