This has been used. It was in my Great Grandmother's house and has been passed on -4th generation. I think pre-1920, but that's a guess. basic, condition is 'used'. original paint, etc.
I'm 49, it was in my Great Grandmother's house near Portland, ME and my mother used it when she was a little girl and doesn't remember a time when the desk wasn't 'in' her life. It's been used by my mother, me and then my daughter who is now 18.

An antique pine student's lift-top desk and chair
American, late 19th/early 20th Century
The desk with shaped backpiece and hinged writing surface opening to a well interior, raised on straight square-section legs joined by turned side stretchers.
Desk is 22 1/2 inches high, 21 1/2 inches wide, 13 1/2 inches deep.
The chair of plain form with straight crest and plank seat (no dimensions)
CONDITION: wear commensurate to age and use.
PROVENANCE: inherited
