You have a wooden statue of a fisherman. I believe he lost his rod. Its heavily lacquered. I do not believe it is rosewood. The carving is not that good. They normally make better quality carvings from rosewood; it is more expensive. Als rosewood is usually not lacquered that much to show the grain of the wood. Its made around 1950 / 1960 I think. This is a Chinese statue. My estimation is based on prices done for this type of statues in salesrooms and auction houses. I assume its around 7 inch tall. That is were my price tag is based on. If it is bigger or smaller just let me know and I will change the estimation.
