Antique Chinese Vase
It’s a very old, antique Chinese vase that may have originated as part of the Ming Dynasty. It’s 14 inches in height. It’s in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Some of my Chinese friends told me this vase may have originated from the Ming Dynasty based on the colour scheme and artwork on the vase and the stamp on the base of the vase.
The vase was given to me by my maternal grandmother. It has been in our family for as long as I can remember.

This is a Chinese porcelain gourd form vase with underglaze blue cobalt decoration. The characters on the underside stand for the Ming Dynasty emperor Xuande who ruled from 1426-1435; however on Chinese wares, the marks indicates the style in which the ware was made not *when* it was made. Technically the mark reads as Xuande Nian Zhi or Xuande Period Make. The double circle around the characters places this as having been produced in the 20th century. In addition the decoration is transferprinted and not hand executed. The estimate is based on actual past auction sales of comparables.
