This is an antique Provincial Chinese wardrobe wooden cabinet in red lacquer on the face front and black lacquer sides. These were traditionally given as wedding gifts to a newly betrothed couple. This dates to the mid to late 19th century. These are also referred to as Noodle Cabinets for the straight flat panels and because the framing is reminiscent of long, flat noodles. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail prices may be higher and vary.
