This is an antique, Victorian era, mid 19th century, about 1850 - 1860, Louis XVI style, Rococo Revival chaise longue (or lounge) or recamier reclining sofa. The wood frame is heavily carved with thick short cabriole legs on ball and claw front feet. This heavy or bombastic style of carving is usually associated specifically with Irish furniture carvers and is desirable on the market. The wood is possibly mahogany or rosewood, it is not clear enough in the photos to be definitive. The original black leather upholstery and button tufted back which appears to be in fair condition.
