This sword measures 37" from top to bottom and the blade is 26" long. I believe this is possibly a Masonic commemorative sword due to the crosses and icons on it. It is quite elaborate and has the name "Ezra Fish Parker" on the sword. The sword is metal, as is the case with the handle of the sword being wood. There are 3 red crosses on the case. Dear Pam,
Thank you for the uploaded new images and my sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a Masonic sword with a typical knight helmed decorated handle. The blade shows the customized dedication to "Ezra Fish Parker". Such a sword was made as half-finished pieces and could be combined with etched blades and similar personal changes. This piece was made in the late 19th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Hi. I have uploaded additional pictures. Because of the curve in the blade, it is difficult to get a great picture, but hopefully this helps. Thanks.
