Antique Guitar

Description

Wood

Provenance

My dad gave it to me several year before he passed away. It’s all I have left of him. I’m a military spouse and just moved to Italy. The guitar and case got water damaged in the moving crate to here. I need to claim it on my damaged list but I need a value and I have no idea what it’s worth.

What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an american First National Institute of Allied Arts Acoustic Parlor Guitar. The paper lable is hardly visible and most likely the name of a distributor, not the maker. The logo somehow resembles the Coca Cola lettering, starting with "Coro.. " or similar. Unfortunately I couldn´t identify this particular company trading in guitars in the 1940s. The estimate is based on similar guitars issued by the First National Institute of Allied Arts offered or sold at auction.
The insurance or replacement value would be the high estimate. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
