Beautifully hand painted cake saver with pink glaze fading to eggshell color with delicate flower pattern around the 10 1/2" base. Base can accommodate a 9" round cake. Cover is also decorated with the same delicate flower pattern on the top and flowing down the sides slightly. It has a hand painted identifying number on the bottom of the base that reads 1378.
Piece was inherited 30 yrs ago.

unattributed maker, first quarter 20th Century
In two pieces, the swirl-turned cover with gilt feather handle, in graduated pink-to-eggshell glaze with gilt floral decorations to upper rim; the lipped lower plate with down-curving edge and gilt floral decorations, marked underneath "1378".
