Very close if not one hundred years of age, based upon it's original owner's age and it being theirs from their childhood. Is made of a corduroy material. The arms and legs all move as if they are jointed. Face has been hand embroidered. Has almost a folk "Americana" look and appeal to it. Only issue is small hole in the tail. Measures a little taller than 12 inches in height.
acquired at local estate sale of recently deceased lady who was 96 at time of death. It was actually hers as a child.
Thank you for contacting Mearto. This is a hand sewn toy monkey with corduroy and fiber filling. There is damage in places. As you mentioned in the description, it is somewhere around a century old. There is a market for antique dolls and toys, and collectors may look within specific categories, like the type of animal or material or era. The Fair Market Value of this item is between $40 and $80, in comparison with similar items I found. It does have an interesting style and I understand what you mean about the 'Americana' folk art look. Perhaps the right buyer would be interested in paying a higher price.
