Old mirror with "face' on top. Wood etched frame. Length 30 1/2", Height 22 1/2", Height including "face" 28". The only marking on the mirror is #867 on the back
The story goes that my grandmother found it in her attic when they moved into their home in the late 30's. The house dates back to the 1850's. I would kind of like to know how old it may be and its possible value.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a 1930s mirror with a wooden and gesso frame, decorated with flowers and foliage in relief, the top decorated with an acanthus leaf and rocaille ( which might look like a maskaron) rounded corners, gold color painted. This is quite an average mirror of the 1930s which could be found in a well-to-do household. The estimate is based on similar sold or offered at auction.
