This is an antique, late 19th century, Victorian era, round topped, barrel-staved travel trunk with pressed molded exterior covering. These were commonly made in the late 19th century for steamer, train and carriage travel. This was not specifically made for movie props though could have been used for such at any time. Originally, this would have had an insert for top shelf; the shelf inserts are usually lost over time. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
