Model 1860 field officers sword. Engraved blade on both sides, appears to be all original, however I am not an expert.
73.5 inches in the scabbard
purchased off ebay in 2003 for $525 with description I gave per paperwork.
Dear Cindy,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a Model 1860 staff and field officers sword with a scabbard. The blade has an etched decor and this sword dates into the second half of the 19th century.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 250 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
