Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

Hi Jim,
The geometric patterning of this rug is characteristic of rugs made thoughout the Caucasus regions, including in part of Iran / Persia.
The values Mearto assigns are "fair-market," for auction purposes; we do not provide insurance appraisals (it's my understanding that is fairly well-spelled out initially). The industry standard is to multiply the low estimate by 3 (which should be 2x the high estimate)...in this case, an automatic insurance value would be $3,000.
I did note the fold; it could be abrash (different dye lots) or fading but in my opinion adds to the character and authenticity of it's age, which I can tell from years of looking at knot patterns.
How do I go about selling this rug thru mearto? It is not clear how to get the appraisal information into the marketplace on you website.

Hi Jim,
If you marked this as "for sale" and made the status "public," it should already appear listed on our marketplace and people can reach out to you directly with offers, etc.
Hope that answers your questions but if not please let me know.
I have listed this rug as for sale in the public market place with a price of 1500USD. However when I search in the Market Place, I cannot find it. Apparently I am doing something wrong?
I've emailed our tech/client support for them to look into this as I can't see it from my screen. Hopefully they'll fix whatever is not correct, though they might not get this fixed until Monday. If you still don't see it please let me know and I'll follow up.
Just checked the Marketplace again and still cannot find my rug.
OK, I see it now. Thanks.
Thank you for the detail in the appraisal.
What does Persian Caucasian mean? Is it a geographic reference or ethnic reference? I do not see an insurance value. Is it the same as the asking price? Did you note a small (6") fold line perpendicular to one of the long edges? How did you determine the source and approximate age of the rug? Thanks, Jim Flynn
