Hi William,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This looks like it could be a Hunzinger rocker...can you find any labels / brands / signatures etc anywhere on it that might confirm that?
Many thanks!
Delia
Typically in a very discrete place (sorry, I know that doesn't make it easier to find)...usually on the underside or back of the seat frame, sometimes on the back of the top of the chair.
Hello....
I looked over the rocking chair very closely, unfortunately I couldn't find any markings. However, I did take more pictures, can I send the new pictures to you ?
Thanks, William, for the additional photographs, which I can see in this appraisal.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination this is:
An Aesthetic Movement turned maple and caned rocking armchair
American or English, late 19th Century
The openwork frame with caned back and seat, on rockers
[dimensions]
PROVENANCE: inherited from mother, who purchased about 40 years ago
$125-175*
*Represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
I will look and see if I can find any markings on it....
Where would the markings normally be?
