This handsome Renaissance Revival style sideboard is what most in the antiques business would call "second period", meaning that it was not made in the late 19th century when this style was first introduced but it is also much older than the term "reproduction" conveys.

The Renaissance Revival style itself came into fruition during the mid 19th Century during the Victorian period and was modeled after 16th and 17th Century European furniture that featured a heavy aesthetic with bold carvings.

I can tell from your photos that this sideboard was made in the early 20th Century - perhaps the 1920s-30s. The backboards have shrunk and there are now gaps in the back. I can also tell that there was probably a tiered superstructure that may have included a mirror and which was mounted along the back edge and secured with vertical cleats along the back. The market for these has changed a bit in recent years and now that this is lacking the superstructure, most auctioneers would offer it for auction with a $300-500 estimate. If you're considering selling this privately, I would start at $700 or $800; if you don't get offers you can lower your asking price but that will eliminate any risk of underselling this.

Surmounted by a white-marble top with molded edge and rounded front corners, over a corresponding case fitted with three short drawers and two cabinet doors, all with bold foliate and acorn carvings, the stiles and bottom rail profusely carved, on casters.
