What does this mean?

Dear Stacey,

What you have here is a champlevé vase ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champlev%C3%A9 ) made in Japan around 1900. These vases have their inspiration from Chinese objects from Ming period. They are made in Japan though and not in China. These objects are made in great quantity's for export to the west like Europe and USA. Vases were usually made in pairs. I believe your vase is one of a set. Lid and foot are not original and added later to make the vase a lamp foot. Thats sad because I believe now the vase has a drilled hole inside for the cable ? My estimation is for one vase without hole because I do not see it. If there is a hole inside then value will drop with 20% or so.
