This antique lap desk has gold embossed red leather writing surface and an ink well. Both sides of surface lifts to reveal compartments beneath. Dimensions:5 1/2 X 12" X 9"
This box was inherited 30 years ago. Nothing else is known of this piece.

The hinged rectangular case with brass-mounted lid opening to an ebonized interior with gilt-embossed red leather writing surface lifting to reveal a document well and fitted with dividers for pens, etc.
5 1/2 inches high, 12 inches wide, 9 inches deep
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition with wear commensurate to age and use.
