Hi Lindsay,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Archimedes Seguso was a master glassmaker from Murano, Italy, known for pioneering modern Venetian glass art. Born in 1909, he revitalized ancient techniques and created innovative designs, blending tradition with contemporary flair. His exquisite, handcrafted glass pieces, including vases and sculptures, are highly prized by collectors worldwide.
Prices for A. Seguso's works are higher when purchased through galleries and by dealers; those that sell at auctions (which are considered "fair-market" values and what Mearto uses in our appraisals), are usually more modestly priced.
Similarly sized baskets by Archimedes Seguso have recently sold at auction for prices between $800-1,200.
