This is a vintage, mid 20th century, original painting by German maritime artist, Patrick von Kalckreuth (1892 or 98 - 1970) that measures approximately 36" x 48". It depicts waves near a rocky outcropping near a shoreline and it is signed. von Kalckreuth was born Patrick Dunbar; he changed his name later in life when his widowed mother remarried in 1931. He began his life career as a seaman and then enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. The majority of his works are depictions of the North Sea.
