15x12 silk printing from the 50's. It has mountains, trees, and a 3 story bungalow on it
My Uncle was overseas in the 50's and he gave it to my mom and in turn she had gave it to my brother an he had gave it to me because he's getting older and he wanted it to stay in a safe place.
Dear Shirley,
Greetings and good day to you. Thank you for calling upon the experts at Mearto to evaluate your Japanese painting on silk. This piece depicts Mt. Fuji in the background with a pagoda in the middle ground surrounded by mountains and water.
While beautifully hand-painted, this is the type of piece which was made for tourists and for on-leave GIs (I had an uncle who sent a similar piece to my grandmother about the same time) because of that, they are not uncommon and when offered at auction they sell in the $15 - $25USD range.
If you have any follow-up questions, I am at your service.
Kindest Regards,
Erin-Marie Wallace MA, AU
