Asian painting
This piece came from my grandparents' apartment. They acquired it when they were living in Hong Kong in the 1960s and 1970s. It appears to be either water color or some kind of wax/oil painting. There are a few other pieces that seem to be from either the same artist or same gallery. It is about 24 inches by 16 inches. I included photos of the front and back which contains some Chinese characters - possibly the name of the piece or maybe the artist's name.

Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I am very very sorry for the delay in your appraisal! The item presented appears to be a painting depicting a heard of ox wrangled by a person, while a sun blazes to the upper corner. The painting appears to be in a contemporary design.
The inscription you included appears to be illegible. However, I noticed another inscription next to a sticker. This inscription reads "牛年图 (Niu Nian Tu)" or "Year of the Ox," which makes sense for the depiction. I was not able to attribute the painting to a specific artist. However, based on your provenance of the acquisition of the object, I assume the painting was produced in 1961 or 1973, as these were the years of the Ox within the 1960s and 1970s.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of comparable painting depicting "牛年图 (Niu Nian Tu)" scenes by regional artists or unknown artists, all of which are dated to a vintage era. Thank you and please take care.
