Hello Lorenzo,
Thank you for choosing Mearto with your online appraisal and for your patience. I apologise for the delay on your appraisal.
Based on the images, this item is:
Entirely Hand Knotted Chinese Aubusson Style Rug with an Elaborate Pattern. The piece dates back to the period from 1960 to 2000. Oriental handmade Aubusson rugs were first introduced in the 17th century when weavers began to create carpets and tapestries for royal castles in France (Aubusson is a town on the Creuse River in France).
The piece is centrally decorated with a central medallion encircled by flowers and branches around a spacious bouquet. The borders are designed very thick and therefore the pattern gets more dynamic by adding up an antique look. The whole pattern is floral and no other motif were used unlike most Aubusson Rugs which would show off coat of arms or signes of nobility from ribbons to crowns.
The piece is knotted wool on cotton. The piece is in good condition without visible problems except loss to the fringes.
Entirely hand knotted.
Retail prices may vary.
1500-2500$
Dear Lorenzo,
I mean the back of the rug from a close distance that I can see it’s knots. Thank you.
Thank you. I’ve uploaded some photos of the back of the rug from a close distance.
I was just checking in to see if any progress had been made on the appraisal. Thank you
Hello Lorenzo,
My name is Lindsey Bourret and I'm the managing director of Mearto. On behalf of my team, I want to sincerely apologize for our delayed response. Unfortunately we had an issue with one of our specialists routinely assigning items to himself, then not completing the appraisals. He has been terminated and we discovered your item in an audit of his account.
I've reassigned your item to one of our other specialists, who should be getting back to you within a few days. I've also added an additional credit to your account, should you wish to give our service another try. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly by email at [email protected].
Again, my deepest apologies.
All the best,

Thank you for getting back to me promptly. How do I put this rug up for sale on your site?
Hello Lorenzo! For further information on that topic, you can contact Mearto for further information. Have great day.
Additional photos uploaded. I’m unclear what you mean about the knots on the rug. I have no idea on that
