My mother worked for Disney Studios in Los Angeles the early 1940’s. These were given to her at the time. Original Mylar, matting and seals of authenticity are represented. The one of Peter Pig was dedicated to my mother ( see description). These are in extremely good condition considering their age. I look forward to learning more about them.
12x14”, framed piece is approximately 13.5x15.5.
Hi Marley,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Donald in Mathmagic Land (1959) is one of the most fascinating Disney films because it’s both entertainment and education. The film follows Donald Duck as he stumbles into a magical land where mathematics comes alive. Guided by a mysterious voice (Paul Frees), Donald discovers how math is connected to art, music, science, nature, and everyday life. It was one of Disney’s first and most ambitious educational films. It made abstract math concepts (like the golden ratio, geometry, symmetry, and Pythagoras’ theorem) accessible and fun for a general audience.
When offered at recent auction, these cels have sold for fair-market prices ranging from $500 and $700.
