“Autonomous” Table
This table has a stack-laminated Ash base, hand carved and finished with classic black stain and satin polyurithane. the table base weighs approximately 350lbs, and it holds a 6’ diameter, 1/2” thick tempered glass top. the texture on the piece shows each tool used to refine the shape, it is chaotic yet uniform over the whole piece. 3k in materials and 150 hours to make it.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a well crafted table, the stack-laminated ash will prevent any cracks in the structure. The treatment of the surface reminds me of the steel design furniture of the 1990s, which is underlined by the choice of black stain and the satin polyurithane. Clearly there is no auction result to back the appraisal with facts. A large root table by an unknown or hardly known manufacturer of the 1970s would cost in the range of the low estimate. The high estimate would be the price you should be paid for the amount of material and work you put into manufacturing the table. But an auction would be the wrong place to sell it, as there is no established market value yet for your products. An interior designer along the west- or eastcoast might be the right buyer.
