Antique Tapestry 28" X 60". Faded by age. I have kept it rolled up in a large plastic leaf bag. There is no writing on it or numbers. Would be perfect to color restore, no damage that I can see. Pictures are front and back.
My grandmother Hazel Wolfe had given it to me approximately 45 years ago. I was told by her at the time that it had come from Europe and was very old.
Dear Susan,
Thank you for your request and patience. The presented object is a tapestry with the measurements of 28 x 60 inches. It depicts a park scene how we know it from from the paintings of the rococo like Jean Honoré Fragonard. This tapestry is not from the 18th century and was made in a machine woven procedure in the late 19th or early 20th century. Sadly the fabric loosed color because of light so it is a medium condition.
An estimation would be between 60 to 120 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
