More detail. Sword belonged to a 3rd uncle Daniel Harwood who fought in the Revolutionary War from 1775 - 1883. It has been handed down through the family all these years.

The presented object appears to be an officer's eagle head pommel sword. It has a fluted bone handle and a blued blade with gold and engraved decoration. This sword dates into the early 19th century. The five balls on the handle as decoration is commonly attributed to artillery but also was used by another branch of service.
Artworks of this artist were recently offered and sold on the international and national auction market.
This piece is in medium condition but there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 800 to 1600 USD.
