I am cleaning out my grandparents home and found this painting. I am the executor of the estate and would like a better of idea of this items worth. They lived in Belgium and it seems this was purchased there (see picture of the back). The dimensions are frame: 21.5" x 17.5", painting: 12.75" x 9", painted on wood, not signed.
This was from my grandparents home.
This is an unsigned 19th century floral still life painting done in the Dutch manner. In the pantheon of Dutch and Flemish floral still life works, this is a fair rendition and not a master rendition. The frame is possibly older than the painting itself, which could have been added into the framing at some time. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
Hello - Here are 4 more photos. I hope these help.
Please add more clear, in-focus close-up images of the surface so I can see the texture and an image that shows the entire backside (do not remove from frame).
