What does this mean?

Dear Joshua,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and for your patience.

This is:

A large, decorative Japanese enamel and brass vase from the Meiji period, although it has no signature or red mark and the date is not secured.

This is known as champleve, this form of wear.

The vase’s condition is good with age-appropriate enamel wear and the dent where one of the masks is applied
